Excursion destinations in the Wilder Kaiser region

Kitzbühel

The pulse of this city beats loud and clear. Kitzbühel, the sports city in the heart of the Alps, combines tradition and lifestyle more charmingly than any other city. The myth of Kitzbühel includes not only its unique charm, but also the athletic energy and the great selection of hotels and restaurants that make Kitzbühel one of the most prominent hot spots in the Alps.

Innsbruck

The capital of Tyrol, Innsbruck is a wonderfully historic city. See sights such as the Golden Roof, the Olympia Museum, the Triumphal Arch and the Alpenzoo.

Salzburg

The city of Mozart on the Salzach is always worth a visit. Unfortunately, though, it is hard to experience all the culture and things to do in just one day: visiting Mozart’s birthplace in the Getreidegasse, trekking up to the Fortress or down to the Mirabell Palace and Gardens, wandering through all the museums (such as the Haus der Nature natural history museum) and the city squares. Plus, the traditional coffee houses and trendy boutiques invite you to stroll, shop and relax. And the Hellbrunn Palace with its trick fountains and zoo are not far away at all.

Day trips in Tyrol and Salzburg

Kufstein Fortress

Built as a powerful defence, today this fortress is a popular attraction for guests from all over the world and is considered both an imposing emblem and significant cultural highlight.

Wildlife Park in Aurach

Hike and relax in the great outdoors where approximately 200 native and exotic animals live on an area of 40 hectares. The highlight is the animal feeding at 2:30 pm, a spectacle of nature.

Swarovski Crystal Worlds

Just outside the city of Innsbruck are the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, situated in the city of Wattens. Since 1995 this magical realm created by Viennese artist André Heller has drawn millions of visitors from all over the world. Step inside this water-spouting giant and be amazed by the sparkling crystals in the 14 cabinets of wonder. Each room is decorated with colourful crystals and invites you to marvel or relax, to feel the shining stones or take a virtual journey to fantasy-filled worlds!
